Definition:
A circular village is the one that focuses on regenerative economic model in its functions and services by promoting systemic transition from the linear ‘take-make-use-dispose’ model to 'circular closed-loop systems'.
Why Villages:
Though villages are minor consumers of energy and materials, there is an opportunity to manage resources better and efficiently. Given the smaller size and minor share of energy and materials consumption, villages can be better test beds or cradles of innovation to lead the transition to a circular economy.
