My name is Dr. NALLAPANENI Manoj Kumar, and I'm the co-founder of HICCER – Hariterde International Council of Circular Economy Research. I started this organization because I'm deeply passionate about critical infrastructure sectors. Having witnessed the devastating effects in critical infrastructure sectors (CISs) especially the waste generation, outdated technology use, resilience issues, lack of skilled workers who can address problems in CISs using transdisciplinary approach, green washing and others. I believe the key reason for this is the lack of right education system especially council that promotes research inspired education that focuses on what society needs to run at present and for the future. So, I knew I had to do something to make a difference. My Ph.D. thesis "Leveraging Blockchain and Smart Contract Technology for Sustainability and Resilience of Circular Economy Business Models" is one that inspired me to come with a solution that can address the issue. That's where, I thought about circular economy-centric advocacy, consultancy, education, and research driven by circular business models, which finally resulted in HICCER.

I co-founded HICCER – Hariterde International Council of Circular Economy Research in 2022 with Er. Mobi Mathew (Co-Founder) who is my friend, collaborator, and fellow researcher. We believe the key to a thriving future lies in promoting circular economy principles – minimizing waste and maximizing resource use.  Through research, education, and collaboration, we're building a new generation of professionals equipped to tackle these challenges.

In just two years, we've made significant strides. We've trained young professionals, launched Mission Circular India prograamme, established a Center of Excellence, and are now poised for further growth.  Our upcoming goals include launching accreditation programs, expanding research projects and training opportunities, secure funding, and creating open-access journals to share critical knowledge.
