HICCER in Brief

ATOCE is an accreditation program launched by HICCER and given officially recognizing an organization or individual being qualified to perform circular economy consultancy, education, and research related activities. ATOCE follows a rigorous assessment and involves multiple steps. 

ATOCE accreditation is of four types:

• ATOCE-C given to a consultant or consultancy, 
• ATOCE-E given to an institute that offers only teaching, 
• ATOCE-R given to institute that offer research, and 
• ATOCE-P given to programs (events like workshops/conferences, certifications, diploma, bachelor degree, master degree, master by research, doctoral degree, and executive programs)

Mission Circular India (MCI) is an ambitious project of HICCER lead by a group of Indian origin individual researchers working in different countries and establishment of Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Circularity and Resiliency at various institutions and industries is a part of MCI.

This project was officially announced by HICCER's on 15th August 2022 (on the eve of India’s 75th Independence Day).

 Mission Circular India project aims to explore circular innovation opportunities and policies. Based on these, we will be developing innovative frameworks that support change while restoring India's natural systems and removing waste from her economy. 

 The modern interconnected world is effectively run by critical infrastructure sectors (CISs), and they are efficient in terms of productivity. However, the intricately interwoven nature makes CISs vulnerable to disruptions. On the other side, climate change impacts caused for various reasons can trigger black swan events with significant cascading social, economic, and environmental implications that threaten our society as we know it. 

Since the CISs are essential and complex systems, the raised issues cannot be solved with traditional knowledge. HICCER strongly believes that circular economy-centric education is the only solution as it adopts nexus and circular thinking and systems innovation to generate new knowledge; that is where the IICER-Indian Institute of Circular Economy Research comes into the picture.
